Industrial Air Purifier
2020 – 2024

THE PRODUCT
In 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic created the need for innovations in how to neutralize airborne pathogens. DiMonte Group worked with Marmon to develop CerroZone; a product designed to sanitize air in larger interior spaces like classrooms and waiting rooms. This product destroys airborne pathogens by pulling air into a chamber swirling with continuously generated ozone gas. The air then blows through a catalyst which scrubs the ozone, emitting clean, sterilized air.
The product and technology we helped develop won CerroZone the Company of the Year Award in air purification technology from Applied Technology Review in 2024.
MY CONTRIBUTIONS
- Multiple rounds of industrial design sketching informed by client feedback to narrow in on a final styling concept that would determine the brand language for an entire product line.
- Developed production ready Solidworks geometry for exterior plastic shrouds with incorporated mounting geometry, and structural ribs
- Sourced and tested off-the-shelf components to be used for production such as hinges, latches, handles, and casters
- Specified the color, material, finish, and overall design execution of parts for production readiness
- Worked with our client and team to troubleshoot unforeseen challenges associated with the novel ozone sanitation process
